Daisy continues to get bigger and bigger! I can place my hands on her belly and fell the puppies moving, but haven't been able to detect loud enough heartbeats to determine how many puppies there are. I'm guessing there are 4 right now. But will know for sure later.

Fang the dog in Get Smart has to be a shorkie
I saw Get Smart this weekend... laughed and laughed! If you watched this in the 60's you might remember his dog Fang the "spy dog". In the movie there is a dog "Fang" played by Oliver and Daisy. I haven't been able to track down the breed of this dog, but I'm 90% positive that it' a Shorkie. The puppy look so much like Daisy and her sisters when they were puppies! I'll be so happy if it is a Shorkie as it will give more recognition to this breed. If anyone is able to find out for sure please let me know.
**Update 10/25/09** I have a new litter of Shorkies. If this is the breed that you are falling in love with please contact me. They will be ready to go in time for Christmas! **

Daisy is into the end of her 4th week....
Daisy's belly is starting to swell as the puppies begin to grow. The first pics were taken June 4th.
The second pics were taken today.
This is such a great website if you want to follow along with what growth stage the puppies are in
http://www.debbiejensen.com/normal_whelp.html
Conception date is May 17th... here is what it says will happen this week:
"Sat 14 Jun 2008 Start to increase the dams food ration.
Don't overfeed, excessive weight gain should be avoided.
The fetuses are fully developed miniature dogs."
I have started her on eggs and cottage cheese, which she is loving!! Daisy spends a lot of time stretched out and sleeping. Right now I am busy getting her whelping box and supplies gathered and ready to go. She has this interesting look on her face every now and then, kinda like "what have you done to me?" Right now her due date is showing as July 20th.. but I am hoping for a few days later then that as school will be done.
My niece McKenna is going to come down for a bit before the puppies are born and then for the week after they are here. My other niece Lindsey will hopefully come up the first week of August to help out as well. Then we will hopefully fit in a trip to Lagoon! I am very lucky to have some extreme puppy loving kids in my family.

Passage to Zarahemla
One of my favorite authors, Chris Heimerdinger, recently came out with a new movie available on DVD. It's called Passage to Zarahemla. When I saw who wrote the story I could hardly wait to see the movie. See I was the girl anxiously awaiting the next book release in the Tennis Shoes and the nephites series. I gladly helped my dad become addicted as well! Everytime I had to drive from Vegas to Salt Lake I'd throw in the book on tape. The ride flew by and many times I had to sit in the driveway to listen to the end of the story.
When I sat down to watch the movie I was full of anticipation and excitement! Phones off, snacks ready to go, and the blinds closed! I have to say I really enjoyed the movie and can't wait to share it with other family members. The storyline was great and as always had hilarious little bits that made you giggle. Overall it was better then expected! I really enjoyed that fact that although violence was part of the movie, you didn't have to be overwhelmed in it. Now I just have to patiently hope and wait for the Tennis shoes series to become a movie!

Yup she's pregnant!!
I was finally able to confirm that Daisy is pregnant! So excited and can't wait to see what the puppies look like. Daisy has been stretching out and sleeping a lot as these puppies start to grow. She is super cuddly and hopefully that will stick around after the puppies are born! Every morning I wake up to her completely stretched out against my back. Luckily I haven't noticed any morning sickness, once they get a bit bigger I'll take her into the vet for a visit. She is on half adult, half puppy food as I transition her to 100% puppy food. She is also very excited about her multi-vitamin she takes every morning. I only wish I was that excited about mine. I'm sure hers taste better!
Right now her due date stands at July 25th.. so puppies will be ready to go to their new homes in late September. If you live in Utah are are interested in one please let me know. Full grown I expect them to be between 5-8lbs.
